Kenneth Kams - Principal
A lifelong Bostonian, Ken spent the first sixteen years of his legal career working in large Boston law firms, initially at the firm of Testa, Hurwitz & Thibeault LLP and then as a corporate partner at Riemer & Braunstein LLP. As a trusted advisor to his clients, Ken focuses on finding practical solutions to legal issues that may arise during the life of a business. Ken specializes in advising companies in matters ranging from initial entity formation and shareholder considerations to assisting companies on legal issues with their ongoing business, with a particular niche representing companies selling their businesses. Ken also enjoys advising companies and individuals on certain fundamental matters such as M&A transactions and succession planning as well as counseling high-net worth individuals and investment funds with equity investments in private companies. Ken is on the Super Lawyers Top 100 list of Massachusetts lawyers and has been recognized by his legal peers with a Best Lawyers distinction in the area of Corporate Law . Ken received his B.A from Tufts University in 1996 and his J.D. from Boston College Law School in 1999. Ken enjoys playing tennis, golf and spending time with his wife and two children. Dan brings a wide array of expertise and experience in his role as Of Counsel to Kams Law Group LLC. Dan has spent much of his career litigating business and employment disputes in a wide range of industries, including manufacturing, real estate development, distribution, intellectual property, life sciences and health care. Dan provides a practical approach to his litigation representation, working closely with his clients to understand their specific needs and tailoring his advice and counsel in order to meet the client's goals. In addition to his experience as a litigator, Dan also works with clients on a broad range of corporate matters such as contract review, employment agreements, M&A transactions and related employment issues, leases and insolvency matters. Dan is admitted to practice before the courts of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts and the First Circuit Court of Appeals. He received his B.A. from Tufts University in 1992 and his J.D. from Boston College Law School in 1997. Dan lives in Needham with his wife and three children. Daniel Reiser - Of Counsel
Kendra Chencus - Of Counsel
After a Massachusetts Superior Court clerkship, Kendra spent seven years at the Boston Law firm of Hemenway & Barnes where she counseled nonprofit organizations on formation, tax, and regulatory and governance issues. She also advised individuals on estate planning and philanthropic matters. Wanting to deepen and broaden her work with nonprofits, Kendra became an Assistant Professor of Law and the Founder and Director of the Community Development Clinic at the Southern New England School of Law (now UMASS Dartmouth). In that role, Kendra taught and supervised law students who provided pro bono representation to local nonprofits. She presented numerous workshops to community partners and boards of directors educating groups on important nonprofit matters. Kendra later consulted in the creation of the Community Enterprise Clinic at Boston College Law School where she subsequently served as an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Law. Kendra has volunteered with several nonprofits in the greater Boston area, including as a board member of Summer Search Boston and RESPOND, Inc. She is a member of The Philanthropy Connection, a collective giving group for women. Kendra is a graduate of Duke University and Boston College Law School.
Joanne Wolforth - Paralegal
Joanne is a career professional who understands the intersection of business and law and thrives on being a contributing team member to the firm's practice. After earning a B.S. in paralegal studies from Rivier College, she spent the first half of her career practicing in real estate, litigation and general business matters in small firms and in an in-house legal department. The next 7+ years of her career were spent in the corporate and health care departments at Ropes & Gray LLP in Boston, MA where she developed extensive experience in entity lifecycle and corporation transactional matters. Along the way, Joanne served as President of the Massachusetts Paralegal Association, was actively involved on the board of directors, taught continuing education seminars, mentored colleagues and staff and developed leadership and project management skills. Joanne enjoys partnering with her clients as a trusted colleague and connector and provides tremendous support and assistance to the firm's corporate and real estate clients.
Jill Kams - Executive Director
Originally from Ohio, Jill moved to the Boston area in 1998. Jill runs the firm's office and is in charge of the financial aspects of the firm. Jill's current position utilizes her organization, budgeting and planning skills. Jill also focuses much of her time on marketing and client development. She shares the Kams Law Group LLC sentiment that each client experience should be as relaxed as possible and that the firm is here to help shoulder the burden of what can sometimes be an intimidating and stressful experience. Jill received a B.S. and M.Ed. from The Ohio State University and began her career as a teacher. Jill enjoys spending time with family, researching ancestry and reading.
